Bollywood’s favorite age-gap rom-com is back, and this time, the tables have turned! De De Pyaar De 2 brings Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh back to screens, promising another round of laughter, awkward family moments, and a few emotional surprises.
The much-awaited sequel picks up right where the first film left off, and if the trailer is any indication, we’re in for a ride filled with wit, warmth, and a generous dose of madness.
A Quick Recap: How It All Began
The first De De Pyaar De (2019) introduced us to Aashish, a middle-aged man (played by Ajay Devgn) who falls head over heels for Ayesha, a much younger woman portrayed by Rakul Preet Singh. Their unconventional love story stirred up quite a bit of chaos, especially when Aashish tried to introduce his girlfriend to his ex-wife, Manju (Tabu), and their grown-up kids.
What made the film stand out wasn’t just the humor, but how it handled the taboo topic of age-gap relationships with a modern, light-hearted touch. The mix of emotional depth, comic timing, and sharp writing struck a chord with audiences, making a sequel feel inevitable.

The Story Continues: Now It’s Ayesha’s Turn
While the first movie revolved around Aashish seeking approval from his side of the family, De De Pyaar De 2 flips the perspective. This time, Aashish must win over Ayesha’s parents, and things quickly spiral into classic Bollywood comedy chaos.
The trailer opens with Aashish nervously stepping into Ayesha’s family home, trying to make a good impression. Enter R. Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor, who play Ayesha’s parents. Their initial reaction? Polite surprise. Their actual reaction? Pure panic when they realize Aashish is practically their age!
From there, the film promises a hilarious tug-of-war between love and logic. Ayesha’s parents, trying to “save” their daughter from a man twice her age, bring in a charming young suitor, played by Meezaan Jafri, to woo her back. And just like that, the battle for Ayesha’s heart begins again, but this time with a comedic twist.
